Exaco Royal Victorian VI 36 Greenhouse

The Victorian Greenhouse is one of the premier greenhouses in the "Helios" line of greenhouses from Janssens of Belgium. This company has been making high-end glass greenhouses for over 30 years. Since the introduction of the Victorian model in 1999, Janssens has become a leading supplier of this style of greenhouse in Europe.

Senior.com is proud to now be the USA distributor of these very fine greenhouses!

Glass or Polycarbonate Construction - Choose Which Best For You

The Victorian Greenhouse line is available with either 4mm tempered glass or 10mm triple-layer "X-Strong" polycarbonate walls. Each choice has a unique set of advantages that allow you to pick the option which will work best for your needs.

Advantages of Tempered Glass

  • Aesthetics: Full transparency is a better "look" for some applications, especially if using the structure for non-plant-growing purposes.
  • Lighting: Maximum amount of natural light is provided when using structure for growing plants.
  • Long-lasting: No fading or discoloration occurs over the unit's lifespan.
  • Safety: Tempered glass is flame-resistant.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Glass is a chemical-free, environmentally friendly material.

Advantages of Polycarbonate

  • Rock-solid Durability: Polycarbonate is almost impossible to break. It will flex and resist objects that may hit the panels and is effective against heavy winds and snow loads.
  • UV-resistant: Polycarbonate protects against harmful UV rays and creates a diffused light environment that promotes consistent light conditions throughout the structure's interior.
  • Heat-retention: Polycarbonate has been shown to retain heat more efficiently than glass, which is an advantage in cold weather growing environments
  • Easy Care: This type of material is low maintenance, and will require less cleaning than glass.

Additional Unique Features of the Exaco Royal Victorian VI36 Greenhouse

  • Uses 4mm tempered glass (other companies use only 3mm)
  • Available with 10mm triple layer "X-Strong" polycarbonate walls for better insulation in colder climates
  • Uses only single sheets of glass (instead of the more common overlapping smaller sections)
  • All glass panes are secured with 360° heavy-duty rubber seals (others use only metal clips or flimsy thin rubber strips)
  • A tall design gives you more head space to work with your plants
  • Made with thicker and stronger aluminum profiles for better strength
  • Technischer Überwachungsverein (TÜV, or Technical Inspection Association) and Geprüfte Sicherheit (GS, tested safety) tested and approved (similar to a UL listing)
  • Each unit comes with a sliding door that can be added to any side of the greenhouse
  • Roof windows include an old-fashioned spindle as well as a modern automatic window opener device option
  • Includes: Gutters with downspouts
  • Includes: A 6"-high foundation frame
  • Includes: A misting system (all you need to connect is a garden hose)

Why Choose a Victorian Greenhouse from Exaco?

Exaco Victorian Greenhouses are renowned in the industry for being the best of the best. By using German and Belgian technology, these greenhouses are great for anyone who wants to expand their love of gardening by growing plants all year. Whether you want to jump-start your vegetables and flowers in the spring, raise organic produce for your family, raise exotic tropical plants that require protective growing environments or are someone who just wants somewhere green and bright during the winter months, an Exaco greenhouse is for you!

Some other features set this company's Victorian greenhouses apart:

  • X-Strong polycarbonate panels feature beveled edges with U-shaped metal end caps for increased durability. (UPDATE: Now available with 10mm triple layer "X-Strong" polycarbonate windows instead of glass. There is no longer the need to special order.)
  • The aluminum profiles are larger, thicker and stronger than those of any competitor in this price range
  • Exaco uses 4mm tempered glass; others use only 3 mm glass
  • Exaco-insulated windows are held in place and reinforced by substantial rubber seals, which provide better insulation
  • The vertical glass construction looks much nicer than other brands that use two overlapping pieces. These pieces can fill with dirt
  • The 6" high foundation frame is included in your price; others usually cost extra
  • A spindle roof window opener option (which is great in windy conditions) and automatic window openers on other roof windows
  • The Exaco Victorian V36 includes a convenient misting system (just attach a hose to connect to the faucet)
  • The shoulder (with a large gutter) is 6'7" high, which is 1' higher than other greenhouses
  • Comes with a sliding door that can be put in any vertical glass location (front, back or sides)
  • Exaco greenhouses are significantly better insulated than other glass greenhouses, thanks to their rubber seals and single-pane windows made with 4mm glass
  • Exaco Victorian greenhouses are expertly made in Belgium using both German and Belgian technologies
