HEPA Filters are used in many air filtration systems because they collect 99.97% of airborne microbes, as small as 0.01 to 0.3. Examples are mold spores, pollen, pet dander, dust mites and other particles that can aggravate allergies and respiratory conditions. Clean regularly, once per month is recommended, but it may need to be cleaned more often in environments with pets or in a rural setting. To clean, vacuum the filter with the hand held attachment to remove dust and other large particles. The HEPA Filter can be washed by running it under cool water and scrubbed using a toothbrush to gently remove particles. HEPA Filter should be replaced each year.
