The U-Step 2 Upright was created to increase your independence. The secret is in our patented U-shaped base. Its ultra-stable foundation braces you in every direction. It is not like pushing a typical walker. Instead, the U-Step 2 surrounds you and moves with you. You will feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm. The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. The U-Step 2 will not roll unless you are ready to walk. When you lightly squeeze either brake release lever, the unit will roll with you. Once you release the lever, the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because the unit will not roll away from you.

- You will feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm.

Reverse Breaking System
The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. The U-Step Neuro will not roll until you lightly squeeze either hand brake. Once you release the hand brake, the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because the unit will not roll away from you.
Rolling Resistance Control
Unlike other rolling walkers, you can adjust the rolling speed of the new U-Step Neuro. Many people find that wheeled walkers roll too fast for them. That is why we engineered a control for setting the rolling resistance. Loosen the set screw and rotate the adjustment lever to the desired amount of resistance, then re-tighten the set screw.
Spring Loaded Front Wheel
The patented spring-loaded front caster system glides easily over uneven surfaces, such as indoor molding strips and cracks in the sidewalk. This avoids sudden jolts as well as the need to lift the walker over small obstacles.
Laser & Sound Cueing Module Available
This optional feature is primarily used by those with Parkinson’s freezing but can be used by anyone with an irregular gait pattern. This Cueing Module can help get you started, normalize your walking and increase your stride. Press the red button on the module to project a bright red laser line on the floor to guide your step. You can also turn on the sound feature to set a beat pattern for walking speed.
Easily Transported
Folding the U-Step Neuro is as easy as one, two, three! Lift the release lever by the seat, pull up on the seat support to fold and put it in the car; no bending down to pick it up.
Comfortable Padded Seat
“I stopped falling! When I bought my U-Step Neuro walker, the results were nothing short of a miracle. I immediately felt safe, as if the walker were a natural extension of my body. It is lightweight, easy to operate and a far more dignified design than other walkers that I tried.” – Ralph Bakery, Los Angeles, CA

Medicare Reimbursement
The U-Step Neuro is the only neurological walker covered by Medicare. For example, it is covered for Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Stroke, to name a few of the more common conditions, where a person would use the U-Step Neuro. Medicare also covers if for people who have limited use of one hand and need one-handed brake controls.
The U-Step Neuro Medicare code (HCPCS) is E0147. As a national Medicare provider, In-Step Mobility, can submit claims on your patient’s behalf. Medicare reimburses up to $400.
Any Medicare provider can also order in and submit claims for your patients. The U-Step Neuro is reimbursable under Medicare Part B, which is only for home. Patient’s in the hospital or skill care facility, would not be eligible under their Part B benefits. Prior equipment, such as the purchase of walkers, wheelchairs or scooters, could disqualify them from Medicare coverage.
In cases where a customer would not be eligible, In-Step offers discounts. In-Step also works with foundations, which often cover the cost when it is an issue.

The 3 U-Step Walker Options
Standard Neuro U-Step
The U-Step Neuro Walking Stabilizer was designed to increase independence and eliminate falling among those with neurological conditions.
The leading-edge features of the U-Step Neuro, as compared to other walking aids, make it superior by providing more stability, maneuverability and control.
Reversed Braking
The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. The U-Step Neuro will not roll until you lightly squeeze either hand brake. Once you release the hand brake, the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because the unit will not roll away from you.
U-Step Neuro Press Down Model
The U-Step Neuro Press Down Model, has the same leading-edge features of the standard U-Step Neuro, which accounts for the superior stability, maneuverability and control, while having press down brakes in place of the standard hand brakes.
To go, either press down on the left or right release lever or flip the back rest over and press down. Ideal for those without the hand strength to squeeze a standard hand brake.
Neuro U-Step with Platforms
The U-Step Neuro Platform Model, has the same leading-edge features of the standard U-Step Neuro, which accounts for the superior stability, maneuverability and control, while having arm platforms in place of the standard handle bars.
This is ideal for many people who have had a stroke or brain injury. It is also excellent for those who have a weak upper body or who tend to stoop over.
Adjustable Forearm Platforms
Stand upright with your forearms cradled in our padded platforms. Ideal for individuals having a Stroke, Brain Injury, Stooped Posture, and weak upper body. Highly adjustable for optimal setup. Platforms can be rotated inwards, and angled up or down.

What Makes The U-Step Walker Different?
Stability
The patented U-shaped base is ultra-stable and surrounds you to prevent you from falling!
Unlike other walkers, the U-Step has a solid welded base that does not wiggle, so you will feel very secure when walking. The majority of the weight of the U-Step is in the base, which provides you with a low center of gravity for greater stability.
In addition, the “U” shaped base surrounds you and braces you in every direction from falling. You feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm. Other walkers only partially brace you from falling.
Control
With turning wheels placed toward the middle of the base, as opposed to the rear as in other rolling walkers, the U-Step Neuro turns around in 29 inches, as compared to 50 inches for most other advanced walkers.
This will allow you to turn in tight indoor areas, such as washrooms, kitchens, and hallways.
At 23 inches wide, the U-Step Neuro also enables walking through narrow doorways.
Optional U-Step Accessories
Prescribed by Professionals and Medicare Reimbursable
