Kyota E330 Kofuko Zero Gravity Full Body Massage Chair
Infinity Massage Chair Buyers Guide
Purchasing a massage chair can be a life-enhancing investment for your mind and body, but involves research and critical decision-making to make sure that money is well spent. When it comes to massage chairs it's what's on the inside that really counts and the company behind it to make sure it runs smoothly for years to come. We're here to help you purchase the right chair for your needs.
Step #1: Choose Your Back Mechanism (sometimes called robots)
2D Massage Technology:
Massage chair rollers move in two dimensions (X and Y axes); up and down from your neck to your back and side to side.
3D Massage Technology:
Massage chair rollers work on X, Y, and Z axes designed to make it feel more like human hands massaging you. The rollers are able to push further out into your back with multiple intensity options.
4D Massage Technology:
Taking 3D to the next level, the rollers in a 4D massage chair move at variable speeds as they move up and down, side to side, and in & out. By incorporating variations of massage styles and speeds, it feels closest to human hands massage. You get more control of the strength, depth, and delivery of your massage.
Syner-D™ Massage Technology:
Two individual massage mechanisms choreographed to work synergistically together to perform therapeutic relief to the back and gluteus region. Utilizing 2D, 3D, and 4D technologies in harmony for the most advanced chair massage available today.
Step #2: Choose Your Roller Track Type
S-Track Massage Chairs:
The S in S-Track stands for "sinusoidal", which is just a fancy way to say "wave". These roller tracks follow the curve of the spine, moving up and down from the neck to the lower back. S-Track massage chairs will allow you to lay out flatter, for superior stretching moves.
L/SL-Track Massage Chairs:
L-Track massage chairs work the same way as S-Tracks but extend further down the body. The L-Track can travel down around to your glutes to the top of the hamstrings. L-Tracks cover more muscle groups for a more complete full body massage.
J-Track or Flex Track Massage Chairs:
The unique J-Track or Flex Track combines the best of L and S-Tracks with the track opening up some upon recline while allowing the mechanism to continue down to the gluteus region. The result is superior spinal decompression and full-length neck-to-glutes massage.
Which Track is Better?
It depends. If you want your massage chair to excel in stretching your back for the best possible spinal decompression, then S-Track is the only way to go. However, an L-Track will provide more comprehensive massage and a superior zero gravity position that also helps with spinal decompression. Most people will choose an L-Track for this reason. If you're looking for a massage chair to help your lower back, hamstrings, and glutes, then L-Track is a must.
Step #3: Massage Chair Recline Functions
Recline:
Massage chairs articulate to recline the backrest and elevate the feet. These actions can be combined to create stretching movements and spinal decompression in better-designed chairs. Beware of chairs that do not allow you to work the backrest and the footrest independently. They do not cost as much, but they are less effective.
Zero Gravity Recline:
This position elevates the feet slightly above the heart for improved circulation and spinal decompression.
True Inversion Stretch:
The chair reclines below a horizontal level, to below 180 degrees. This technique put your body inverted with your head down and heels up to relieve pressure on the vertebrae.
Near-Flat Reclining S-Track
Gives you a full body stretch — the hips are held in place while the legs are pulled down, stretching your back.
Step #4: Massage Chair Feature Considerations
Manual Massage Zones:
The more advanced the chair, the more manual options you will have to work on specific needs such as neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, glutes, arms, hands, legs, feet and calves.
Heat:
Many chairs come with penetrating lumbar heat to loosen and relax muscles. Some chairs come with multiple heat zones in the hands, back, and feet.
Reflexology Rollers:
Foot rollers combine with the compression air cells to hit target points on the sole of your feet for benefits throughout your body. Reflexology rollers range from single to triple rollers per foot. The air cells on the top provide compression massage and intensity for the foot rollers below.
Calf Rollers an Oscillation Massage:
Found only in premium chairs, these features make for the world's best foot and calf massage available today. Motorized calf rollers in the back and oscillation kneading on the sides.
Hand Massage:
Uses airbags and compression to knead your forearms, wrists, and palms.
Zero Wall Fit™ Space-Saving Technology:
This allows for less space to fully recline the chair. The chair slides forward as it reclines only requiring a few inches between the chair and the wall. make sure you consider your space requirements before buying.
TrueFit™ Body Scanning Technology:
This allows the chair to pinpoint your size and shape to provide a customized massage.
Massage Chair Size Minimums and Maximums:
Be sure to check the specifications in the chair descriptions to check the chair fits your body type. Most chairs have a large height and weight range to accommodate multiple family members.
Some Cool Extras:
iOS and Android App Functionality, Chromotherapy, Air Ionizer, Intuitive Remote Control, Intelligent Voice Control, Bluetooth Speakers, Wireless Charging all add to the massage experience.
Step #5: Massage Chair Price
Basic? High-End? Top of the Line?
You will need to do some research and find a balance between budget and the features you'd like in a massage chair. Typically, less expensive massage chairs offer basic vibration and fixed massage similar to what is available in a massaging seat topper. You are paying for the chair frame to be added on but gaining no therapeutic benefit. As you move up in price, the smoother the massage quality and the better the coverage. As you might expect, cheaper chairs are typically made of cheaper materials. Consider the longevity of the chair and how long it will last. Cheaper chairs should be considered if use will be infrequent and the precision of the massage is not important. If you are looking for frequent massages and have problem areas that are difficult or very specific, then often times you will need to invest in a higher quality massage chair.

Health Benefits of Regular Massages
While there is a lot of talk and speculation about the health benefits of massage, one thing is for certain: it feels darn good! There is however, research that shows massage has amazing health benefits. It's a natural way to help relieve stress and pain in the comfort and convenience of home.
Below you will find the many benefits of a regular massage routine
Reduce Stress
Massage can help to reduce stress on physical and psychological levels by lowering heart rate, blood pressure, cortisol levels, and insulin levels. Serotonin and dopamine are also released, which helps the body overcome chronic or habitual, as well as acute, or short-term stress.
One study by The University of Konstanz in Germany found that just 10 minutes of massage can activate the body’s system for overcoming stress.
Another well-known study by The University of Miami School of Medicine's Touch Research Institute found that 15 minutes in a massage chair enhances measurable EEG brain activity in adults. Additionally, these adults performed more quickly and accurately in mathematical testing after receiving the massage, while groups without massage showed no improvements.
Boost Mental Health
Dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins are neurotransmitters that are released when the autonomic nervous system is stimulated. Dopamine is known as the “feel-good” hormone. Serotonin helps regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, and memory. And Endorphins are your body’s natural pain reliever, which your body produces in response to stress or discomfort.
Research shows that massage can help increase the secretion of endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin — the body’s “feel-good” chemicals, and help reduce the levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine to help reduce anxiety, fatigue, and stress.
In a study done on the “Treatment Effects of Massage Therapy in Depressed People: A Meta-Analysis”, they concluded that massage therapy is significantly associated with alleviated depressive symptoms.
Improve Sleep
Many people use massage to help relax, manage stress and get better sleep. Regular massage sessions have been found to help decrease depression and anxiety levels and improve sleep quality. Massage can trigger the release of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps you feel calm. Massage can also help manage pain caused by stress or injury which may also contribute to lack of sleep such as headaches, neck and back pain and arthritis.
50 to 70 million Americans experience sleep issues that affect their health. According to the American Massage Therapy Association, studies show people who had regular massages reported a decrease in pain with fewer sleep disturbances
Manage Pain
According to the American Chiropractic Association, lower back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide. Approximately one in ten people have it, and for many who develop back pain, it becomes a chronic condition. Massage helps improve venous and lymphatic flow throughout the body. By manipulating the muscles, blood flow is able to increase throughout the body. Increasing blood flow facilitates the circulation and absorption of nutritional elements into the muscle tissues.
Research has shown the inclusion of massage therapy can help with chronic pain such as back pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, and behavioral health issues like anxiety and depression, rehabilitation and athletic training and injury treatment.
Another study found that massage may provide lasting relief for chronic lower back pain, according to research published in the journal Pain Medicine. Researchers looked at 104 people with persistent back pain who were referred by their doctors to licensed massage therapists. They went to 10 sessions over 12 weeks, and the practitioners were free to design massage programs that were individual to the patients, rather than all using the same technique.
Most subjects completed a questionnaire, and more than 50% reported clinically meaningful improvement in their back pain. Several people even dropped below the threshold for disability according to lead author Niki Munk, an assistant professor of health sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Additionally, many of these improvements lasted. Three months later, with no further massage sessions, 75% of the people who reported initial improvement said they still felt better.
Improve Circulation
Massage therapy can help with circulation by increasing the blood flow. This helps increase oxygenation in the body and tissues. Blood carries oxygen, and oxygen helps us function properly and heal well. It can also help with lymphatic flow and removal of toxins in the body. Often when someone has poor circulation they have swelling, tension and tightness. The pressure applied through massage therapy can help move blood through congested areas and allow new blood to flow once those areas are released.
One study from the University of Illinois at Chicago showed that massage improved vascular function in people who had not exercised, suggesting that massage has benefits for people regardless of their level of physical activity.
Boost Immunity
Regular massage therapy can help increase the activity of the white blood cells that help the body fight disease. It helps increase the levels of lymphocytes, which are the cells that help the immunes system fight off harmful substances in the body. Stress can also be an immunosuppressor, and daily massage can help reduce your overall stress.
Research indicates that massage therapy can help strengthen the immune system. The study reported that people who had massage experienced measurable changes in their body’s immune and endocrine response. A Cedars-Sinai study found that participants in a Swedish massage group experienced significant changes in lymphocytes, which contribute a great deal to defending the body from disease. A lymphocyte is one of three subtypes of white blood cells in the immune system. “The research indicates that massage doesn’t only feel good, it also may be good for you,” says Rapaport, the principal investigator of the study.
Lower Blood Pressure & Heart Rate
Massage has been shown to help lower blood pressure and heart rate. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Massage increases circulation, and when blood circulation is enhanced, blood pressure can be reduced and the heart rate begins to slow.
Several studies point to the benefits of massage therapy for heart benefits:
In a 2008 study, researchers studied 263 volunteers who underwent massage for 45 to 60 minutes. Average blood pressure fell by 10 mg Hg, and heart rate by 10 beats per minute—after just one treatment. "That's about as much as you might get from prescribing a new blood pressure medication for life!" says cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn.
In 2013 study, 50 people with mildly elevated blood pressure received a 15-minute massage three times a week for 10 sessions, while a similar group just relaxed for the same amount of time. By the end of the sessions, only blood pressure of the massage group participants had fallen, and remained lower for several days.
A study examined women with high blood pressure who had an hour long massage each week for four weeks. The drop-in markers of inflammation suggest massage therapy may have a body-wide healing effect.
Sports Recovery
Caring for muscles in between workouts can help accelerate recovery, help you avoid injury, plus improve your overall performance and health. By helping to reduce inflammation and increase blood flow, this can help ease the tightening and shortening of muscle tissue.
A study by the researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago, studied if massage would improve systemic circulation and reduce muscle soreness after exercise. As expected, both groups felt sore immediately after exercise, but the exercise-and-massage group reported no continuing soreness 90 minutes after massage. “We believe that massage is really changing physiology in a positive way,” said Franklin. “This is not just blood flow speeds — this is actually a vascular response.”
And, according to the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), their research suggests massage has a substantial impact on both the physical and mental health of people who do sports and exercise. Massage can be a preventative, corrective, and rehabilitative treatment.

Set up: 5/5 stars- Easy as it comes
Set up: 5/5 stars- Easy as it comes. Take it out of the box, plug it in, start a program. Portability: 3/5 Stars- If you need to move it yourself it's a pain and we couldn't get it upstairs. Rolls pretty easy on hardwood or carpet. Air bags: 2/5 Stars- The ones on the calf are firm enough but the shoulder ones are pointless. They don't pull my shoulders back at all and I would rather they have just skipped them. Foot Rollers: 3.5/5 Stars- They are fine. They work better when the calf airbags are holding your feet down Zero G: 5/5 Stars- I love how it moves me back Rollers & Track: 3.5/5 Stars- I'm struggling with the spacing in the upper back area and the hardness of the rollers on my shoulder blades, but I like the different speeds, that I can change the width for some areas, and that it goes down my glutes! Total score is 3.75/5 Stars. I'm rounding up for the review since a feature I REALLY like is the fact that I can remove the remote and power cord and store them away from the kids.
Overall very happy
So we were hesitant to buy this without sitting in it first. I’m 5’10 and my wife is 5’11. I’m 210 lbs and my wife is 160. First off, it’s a good-looking chair and does fit our tight office space well. The two tone and fake leather is gorgeous. It only has one cord and from all appearances, it’s definitely good looking enough to sit out in any living space without fear of it looking like some sort of space chair. The numerous massage features are nice and we use different ones for different days. I like the leg pumps and upper back and my wife likes the neck and low back. I wish it squeezed harder on the legs since I stand all day and my legs ache but my mom who is 5’6 and 120 lbs thought the leg squeezers we just right. The back rollers are really good but sometimes are almost too rough. We put a single towel down and that helps provide some padding. I’m a little overweight so it doesn’t bother me but my mom who is bony thought it was too rough. They cannot be adjusted on how hard they roll since it’s supposed to “sense” your body and adjust itself. Over all for the price it’s great and it looks nice. I am happy with it especially after standing all day and my back/legs hurt. Wife who is pregnant also loves it for her SI joint pain. It is a little rough and seems to be best fitted for people 5’8-5’10.
Good chair for the price!
Good chair for the price. Definitely gives a vigorous back massage. Foot massager is mediocre, but it is relaxing. Seems to be a high quality chair. Air bags are ok, but nothing wow about them. I think the 6'4" height rating is a little high. I'm 6'2" and I have to slouch a little in the chair to get the neck massage. For the price, I'm willing to slouch a little, but really the max height should be 5'10" to 6'00". This chair isn't perfect, but it does the job and appears to be high quality for the price.
