Alternating Pressure Air Therapy

Unlike other alternating pressure mattresses, the PressureGuard® Bariatric APM avoids creating extreme pressure differences between inflated and deflated cylinders. The top layer features the Geo-Matt® anti-shearing surface, offering a comfortable and therapeutic interface between the user and the air system. This surface smooths out sharp pressure changes that other mattresses can’t manage, while the air system beneath alternates weight distribution in ten-minute cycles. Six cylinders follow a four-up, two-down inflation/deflation pattern to provide continuous and optimal patient support. Additional features include the exclusive Heel Slope™ taper and a two-part Safety-Edge bolster system, enhancing stability during sitting or transfers.
