Easy Dentures - Additional Sizing Guidelines
Some additional sizing guidelines to help you choose the right size
The S/M (i.e. Small) denture is 2” across from the outside of the 1st molar to the outside of the other 1st molar.
The M/L (i.e. Large) denture is 2 - 1/8” across. However, this does not matter as much when sizing because the occlusion (i.e. how wide or narrow the denture is in comparison to lining up with the other arch) is completely adjustable once the product is boiled during the self-fitting process (see FAQ’s on our website as well as the fitting videos).
Therefore those dimensions stated can change fairly significantly as the product is heated and adjusted. Also, when sizing, the teeth are approximately 15% larger with the M/L (i.e. Large) vs. S/M (i.e. Small) as is the amount of NuvoFlex material provided on the denture (i.e. the material that softens when the product is boiled). So if you have smaller facial features we recommend the S/M, larger facial features, we recommend the M/L. And in summary, either denture can essentially be fit to most any size mouth, you simply need to decide if you would prefer smaller or larger teeth based on your facial features.
Losing your teeth impacts your life on a broad scale. You find yourself using just part of your mouth to chew or select softer foods, if not liquid. At the same time, you might feel self-conscious when you smile and when you talk.
Unfortunately, despite dentures being the optimal solution for older adults, our current system often requires patients to sit in the dentist's chair for eight hours or more just to be fitted for a pair. Then, patients spend weeks waiting to receive their dentures. What do you do in the meantime?
How Dentures Are Made
The average set of dentures is a multi-step, weekslong process:
- Starts with a dentist visit to get molds made
- Molds are sent to the lab for casting
- Molds sent back to dentist
- Dentist fits molds to a patient for custom-fitting
- Denture is sent back to lab for alterations
- Refined denture sent back to the dentist
- The patient will check for final fitting and delivery
And this all, of course, assumes that the patient only needs one refinement. If additional refinements are needed, the time - and costs - can grow exponentially.
These multiple visits can also be costly. The average set of traditional dentures costs between $800 and upwards of $5,000, with most costing around $1,500.
As a result, mail-order dentures - also known as ready-made dentures - are growing in popularity for their convenience. Patients order a set online and then form the top, bottom or both portions using boil and bite technology - similar to molding a mouthguard.

Today’s Dentures are Low-Tech and High-Cost
When it comes to toothlessness, dentures are your best, if not only, bet. Sadly, our current system of dentures hasbecome antiquated. The patient has the choice of sitting in the dentist’s chair for 8 hours or more, or spending weeks to receive their dentures.
The average set of dentures is a seven-step, multi-week process:
1. Starts with a dentist visit to get molds made
2. Molds are sent to lab for casting
3. Molds sent back to dentist
4. Dentist fits molds to patient for custom fitting
5. Denture is sent back to lab for alterations
6. Refined denture sent back to the dentist
7. Patient is check for final fitting and delivery
And this all, of course, is based on the assumption that the patient only needs one refinement. If additional refinements are needed, the time—and costs—can grow exponentially.
These multiple visits can take a toll on your wallet as well. The average set of traditional dentures costs anywhere from $800 to upwards of $5,000, with most coming in around $1,500.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do dentures typically last?
With sufficient care, a set of dentures lasts anywhere from five to 10 years. You can extend the lifespan of your dentures by making sure they don't slip out of your mouth during wear and soaking and cleaning them at night. Avoid biting down on hard foods and objects or grinding your teeth, as these habits accelerate wear.
When I order dentures online, can they be repaired if they are damaged?
With the Easy Denture™, you have the option to refit your set up to 20 times, thanks to boil-and-bite technology.
With traditional dentures, patients have options, including kits with adhesive for sealing cracks and chips. However, especially if you order dentures online instead of having a custom set made by your dentist, you may need to replace your pair if the damage renders them unusable.
What should I consider when purchasing boil-and-bite dentures online?
If you buy boil and bite dentures online, make sure to think about the following:
How a set of dentures may fit based on your body weight: When using Easy Denture™, the Small/Medium size is ideal for individuals weighing under 150 lbs., and the Medium/Large is suited to those 150 lbs. or more.
How you'll fit the set of dentures to your mouth: The Easy Denture™ lets you refit your set up to 20 times for a more customized fit. You may need to boil and bite down multiple times until you achieve a comfortable fit that doesn't slide around or out of your mouth.
How do I ensure dentures fit properly?
Dentures that slide around or out of your mouth don't fit correctly. As your mouth may change with age, this is to be expected.
Patients have a few options to ensure a proper fit:
- Make sure you're using enough adhesive in your mouth.
- Properly clean your dentures, and limit sources of potential damage.
- With boil-and-bite dentures, you have the option to boil the polymer and refit the set to your mouth.
- With traditional dentures, make an appointment with your dentist to determine why your dentures no longer fit. From here, your dentist may have your set adjusted or fit you to a new pair.
What is the difference between full dentures and partial dentures?
Full dentures involve replacements for all teeth in your mouth, including the top and bottom portions of your jaw. Partial dentures replace some of your teeth: This may be a full or part of a row of teeth, based on existing dental health. In this case, partial dentures secure to your healthy teeth to improve your smile and bite strength.
