-
Laser & Sound Cueing Module - Clinically proven to reduce Parkinson’s freezing and falls. The Laser & Sound cueing module can help get you started, normalize your walking and increase you stride. Press the red button on the module to project a bright laser line on the floor to guide your steps. You can also turn on the sound feature to set a beat pattern for maintaining a steady walking speed.
- Weights - 2 pound weights for a total of 4 pounds. Although the U-Step is very stable, we offer weights as an accessory to increase the stability of the walker. These weights easily secure to the base of the U-Step 2 with Velcro straps. These weights add a total of 4lbs to the base.
Information on Red & Green Lasers
Since the introduction of our laser cueing products 12 years ago, they have been produced exclusively with red laser modules. We are now offering a green laser option as well.
Why Green ?
Green light, because of its wavelength, is easier to see than red light. (That being said, in most cases our red laser line is easy to see)
However, there are a few things you should know:
- Both green and red laser beams are barely visible outdoors in the sunlight.
- Green lasers do not tolerate temperatures below 32 or above 100 degrees.
- Green lasers consume twice the battery power of red lasers, therefore you will need to change the batteries more often.
- Green laser modules are more complex, which accounts for them costing more than red laser modules.
The 3 U-Step Walker Options
Standard Neuro U-Step
The U-Step Neuro Walking Stabilizer was designed to increase independence and eliminate falling among those with neurological conditions.
The leading-edge features of the U-Step Neuro, as compared to other walking aids, make it superior by providing more stability, maneuverability and control.
Reversed Braking
The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. The U-Step Neuro will not roll until you lightly squeeze either hand brake. Once you release the hand brake, the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because the unit will not roll away from you.
U-Step Neuro Press Down Model
The U-Step Neuro Press Down Model, has the same leading-edge features of the standard U-Step Neuro, which accounts for the superior stability, maneuverability and control, while having press down brakes in place of the standard hand brakes.
To go, either press down on the left or right release lever or flip the back rest over and press down. Ideal for those without the hand strength to squeeze a standard hand brake.
Neuro U-Step with Platforms
The U-Step Neuro Platform Model, has the same leading-edge features of the standard U-Step Neuro, which accounts for the superior stability, maneuverability and control, while having arm platforms in place of the standard handle bars.
This is ideal for many people who have had a stroke or brain injury. It is also excellent for those who have a weak upper body or who tend to stoop over.
Adjustable Forearm Platforms
Stand upright with your forearms cradled in our padded platforms. Ideal for individuals having a Stroke, Brain Injury, Stooped Posture, and weak upper body. Highly adjustable for optimal setup. Platforms can be rotated inwards, and angled up or down.

What Makes The U-Step Walker Different?
Stability
The patented U-shaped base is ultra-stable and surrounds you to prevent you from falling!
Unlike other walkers, the U-Step has a solid welded base that does not wiggle, so you will feel very secure when walking. The majority of the weight of the U-Step is in the base, which provides you with a low center of gravity for greater stability.
In addition, the “U” shaped base surrounds you and braces you in every direction from falling. You feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm. Other walkers only partially brace you from falling.
Control
With turning wheels placed toward the middle of the base, as opposed to the rear as in other rolling walkers, the U-Step Neuro turns around in 29 inches, as compared to 50 inches for most other advanced walkers.
This will allow you to turn in tight indoor areas, such as washrooms, kitchens, and hallways.
At 23 inches wide, the U-Step Neuro also enables walking through narrow doorways.
Optional U-Step Accessories
Prescribed by Professionals and Medicare Reimbursable
The U-Step Neuro is covered by Medicare and most insurance plansfor those with neurological conditions affecting their walking.
Medicare
The U-Step Neuro is the only neurological walker covered by Medicare. For example, it is covered for Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Stroke, to name a few of the more common conditions, where a person would use the U-Step Neuro. Medicare also covers if for people who have limited use of one hand and need one-handed brake controls.
The U-Step Neuro Medicare code (HCPCS) is E0147. As a national Medicare provider, In-Step Mobility, can submit claims on your patient’s behalf. Medicare reimburses up to $400.
Any Medicare provider can also order in and submit claims for your patients. The U-Step Neuro is reimbursable under Medicare Part B, which is only for home. Patient’s in the hospital or skill care facility, would not be eligible under their Part B benefits. Prior equipment, such as the purchase of walkers, wheelchairs or scooters, could disqualify them from Medicare coverage.
In cases where a customer would not be eligible, In-Step offers discounts. In-Step also works with foundations, which often cover the cost when it is an issue.

Great accessory for the u-step chair
This basket is a great addition to my mother’s walker. The sliding position also allows her to keep her belongings with her and still have access to the seat.
Works amazing!
Easy for my brother to assemble for my Dad, and it does exactly what it is intended to do!
Thanks
Okay Except da brake in left side sametimes is not working the right side is okay
U-Step Rolling Walker Accessories
This is the best thing since sliced bread if your parent carries alot of stuff. The slide makes it easy for my mom to walk with her phone and cup readily available and if she gets tired, she slides the tray forward and sits down. A must for anyone using a U-Step.
UStep Tray
Tray is well made. Was easy to install. Removed the original UStep handle, since this replaces it. Had to cut the two internal bungees that were attached to the original handle in order to remove it. Took almost two months for it to arrive. Would like to have received notifications when it would ship. I made a couple of phone calls, and customer support helped me.
